York Early Music Christmas Festival at National Centre for Early Music
Christmas is being celebrated early in Davygate on 2 December, with a wide range of entertainment from 3.00-8.00 including children's events (Santa's Grotto), festive music, street sellers and, from 6.00, live music on a stage at the St Helen's Square end of Davygate. The road will be closed to traffic from 11.00 am. This event is supported by Waitrose
Festival Of Angels Sat 10 - Sun 11 Dec 2011
A true winter festival, transforming York's most unique streets into a winter wonderland of ice sculptures, stalls, al fresco dining, street entertainment, live ice carving and guaranteed 'snow' showers.
Popular with both visitors and residents the festival takes place across the streets of Swinegate, Back Swinegate and Grape Lane.
Sip hot mulled wine while you marvel at stunning ice sculptures before taking some time to explore the collection of eclectic shops, bars and restaurants in the district.
The annual parade of angels leaves from The Guildhall at 12 noon on Sunday 11th December
